We are excited to announce that we have a new opportunity for a Leadership Development Specialist to join our Talent & Leadership team, on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a great opportunity to support the delivery of our ambitious leadership development ambition and ultimately our People Strategy.

In this role the focus will be on uplifting leadership capability across D&G, to achieve excellence in leadership and drive greater business outcomes.

You will be responsible for leading our professional skills offering, to develop individual capability and effectiveness in role, as well as ensuring we have a solid leadership infrastructure in place to support colleagues to be successful. You will also work with the wider team on designing and delivering leadership programmes and team development activities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Head of Leadership Development to support the execution of D&G’s Leadership Development ambition for 2024-25
  • Lead on the implementation of a professional skills development framework to provide a robust offering to the business, including professional accreditations, apprenticeships and management skills development.
  • Proactively manage apprenticeship uptake and maximisation of levy utilisation, to support professional skills development framework.
  • Lead on the design of our leadership portal, tools and resources for colleagues to support their skills development, and monitor and evaluate success.
  • Design career pathways to support colleagues to identify and develop skills required to progress further within the organisation.
  • Act as a key point of contact for professional skills development – providing expertise, support and guidance to colleagues and helping them identify suitable solutions to address their skills or development needs.
  • Support the Leadership Development team, as needed, with the implementation of leadership and team development initiatives.

Skills and experience required:

  • An interest in the theory and practice associated with Leadership Development and Team Effectiveness
  • Interest and awareness of external trends, benchmarks, networks and thought leadership that will positively impact leadership design.
  • Previous experience of facilitating workshops and delivering training in different environments, and to employees at all levels, would be an advantage
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively engage and develop strong trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to build good partnering relationships with external suppliers to deliver projects.
  • Bring a modern and innovative approach to leadership development, being prepared to try out new ideas.
