About the role

The Senior Analysts’ role is to be curious, ask probing questions and not accept the status quo.

You’ll be a storyteller, comfortable engaging different stakeholders on a range of topics and using analytics to lay the case for improvements that affect our customers. And of course you’ll be applying your attention to detail and ability to interrogate both our data and your conclusions on a daily basis. You’ll be driven and ready to hit the ground running.

You will be responsible for learning about a range of our business practices, bringing people and ideas together and contributing to our strategic OKRS. You have a chance to make a real impact to our business and become a trusted analytics partner.

Key responsibilities

  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand business problems, define analytical questions and develop data stories
  • Ownership of analytics projects, from definition, to test, to implementation
  • Developing recommendations and explaining recommendations in a way that will lead to change in our key strategic areas
  • Utilising existing data sources from across the business and new data sources to provide deeper understanding of retention and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Report key metrics and provide performance updates to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of driving actions through analysis, within a previous analytical role
  • High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Understanding of how to approach a problem analytically and identify the questions that were “unasked” by stakeholders
  • Able to independently research different solutions to complex problems and apply them in relevant scenarios
  • Commercially focused and able to explain data stories to a range of stakeholders
  • Able to explain complex analysis to non-technical colleagues clearly and with authority
  • Able to communicate honestly and openly, both written and verbal
  • Curious to know why things are done as they are
  • Keen to contribute to a learning culture, setting the example of how to learn from others but also willing to mentor and teach other team members
  • Strong delivery, results orientated
  • Querying data using SQL
  • Using Excel for analytics
  • Able to design, execute and conclude on A/B and multivariate tests, making use of statistical techniques
  • Experience of data visualization tools such as Power BI/Tableau
  • Proficient in other programming languages such as Python or R would be advantageous
  • Experience of querying using cloud-based software such as AWS or Databricks would be advantageous
