Location: Flexible on location and office base with visits to all D&G offices as and when required.

We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Compliance Business Partner to join our Risk & Compliance team.

In this role, it will be responsible for providing expert technical compliance advice to business functions, supporting adherence to regulatory obligations and internal compliance frameworks. As a senior subject matter expert, and customer champion the role balances strategic guidance with hands-on support in advisory, policy development, and risk assessment activities.  

The role acts as a trusted business partner, enabling commercial objectives while ensuring regulatory compliance and reputational integrity. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in regulatory compliance, conduct risk, and relevant insurance regulation. 

  • Interprets complex or emerging regulations and translates them into actionable business guidance. 

  • Applies compliance knowledge to advise on commercial and reputational risk, new products, and distribution strategies. 

  • Brings insight from regulatory developments, industry trends, and thematic reviews to inform business practice. 

  • Maintain current knowledge of laws and regulations, across Financial Services, keeping abreast of projected and recent changes, emerging technologies, and industry trends.

  • Provides independent compliance advice that influences business and operational decisions across multiple functions.

  • Acts as a key escalation point for regulatory interpretation and operationalisation of compliance policies

  • Contributes to recommendations on process improvements and policy enhancements. 

  • Influences senior stakeholders across functions such as Legal, Risk, Audit, Product, Operations and Tech. 

  • Escalates material or complex issues to senior compliance leadership, supporting resolution and remediation efforts. 

  • Will represent Compliance at key decision making fora, committees and projects.

Skills and experience required:

  • Confident, self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment 

  • Strong compliance knowledge to advise on commercial and reputational risks

  • Clear written and oral communication skills 

  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail, good judgment showing logical decision making 

  • Advanced Excel skills  

  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines 

  • Detailed working and practical knowledge of FCA Handbook including ICOBS, SYSC, PRIN, Consumer Duty and COCON is essential.

  • Experience of working in regulated environment, preferably insurance but financial services can be considered
