I joined D&G in January 2018 as Supplier and Heating Service Director to lead the operational delivery for Scottish Power. Together, my team and I manage the operational relationships of the heating original manufacturer’s (OEMs), John Lewis, Amazon and our service network who carry out over 500K repairs a year across all sectors in the UK and Eire. Working closely with our partners, we have delivered safe, effective, and extremely important service to our customers.

I have been with Domestic and General for 5 years now and couldn’t think of a better company to develop my career with. I am currently a team manager within the outbound department and for me the rewards are brilliant – not only is it the commission monthly which drives me to over deliver the team engagement and morale within the business really makes it a fun place to work and this can be anything from a team karaoke to who can do the best chicken dance. Domestic and General care about each person and for me the outbound department are more like a family, they always looking for feedback to improve and always make sure we can deliver the best results possible. I have also been very lucky and was given the opportunity to travel to South Africa and Scotland to visit some of our other sites and look to see how we can support them with their results, I was fortunate enough to go on a safari whilst in South Africa which would never have happened if it wasn’t for Domestic and General.

I’m a working parent, my partner also works full time and the hybrid working model has changed our lives. I have a four year old and the option of taking him to school and picking him up at least once a week is something I value greatly, we work flexibly but ensure we’re on site for collaborative working and interaction as often as possible , this means when I need to focus I can and when we need to get stuck in we do , the model really supports me in allowing me to be productive without unnecessary commutes when my day is full of calls and I get the right work life balance for myself and my family.

I have worked for Domestic and General since 10th August 2020, The reason I remember it so clearly is because it was the best decision I ever made to leave my old job to come and work for them. There are so many things that are great about D&G, I can't possibly tell you about them all, so here are a few... The people are super friendly and everyone is there to support each other, if you get stuck on anything just ask for help and it’s there. There are lots of activities outside of work too, team events and meals out you can go to and meet your work mates in person. There are lots of opportunities to progress within the role I’m happy in my current role however I've seen team mates become managers with the help of the operation and there are lots of learning opportunities too with the likes of you learn and LinkedIn Learning The work at home really suits me as I am able to support my family more and don’t need to worry about travelling in cold weather. I would tell anyone who listens, come work for us.
