Top 5 reasons to work in Brighton!

Domestic & General has been a well-established employer in Brighton for 10 years. Based right in the city centre, the Brighton office is on several direct bus routes and is just a few minutes’ walk from the station.

But apart from excellent transport links, a varied social calendar and working hours that offer something a little different from the usual 9 to 5 – what’s so great about working in such a prime location?

Here Domestic & General Resourcing Advisor, Victoria Baker shares her five favourite things about working in Brighton.

1. The shops

Churchill Square Shopping Centre (opposite Domestic & General) is a shopper’s paradise. And if you can’t find what you are looking for there, then Brighton’s historical Lanes are sure to offer a quirky alternative. I work just a stone’s throw away from both, making payday shopping perhaps a little too easy!

2.  The culture

Brighton positively oozes culture. From its multiple theatres, galleries and museums, to varied nightlife, cinemas and so much more, you can always find something exciting to do in what is one of Europe’s most culturally diverse cities.

3.  The food

With over 400 establishments serving food in Brighton & Hove, eating out is easily one of the best parts about working in this amazing city. Domestic & General employees also benefit from discounts at a whole range of different restaurants, cafes and bars, and with so many amazing places to choose from, you’ll never get bored.

 4. The people

Brighton is a multicultural hotspot and, in my opinion, is home to some of the friendliest people around! As a company we encourage and celebrate diversity amongst our employees; this year we’re supporting Brighton Pride and we’re the headline sponsor of the first ever Pride Diversity Games.

 5. The beach

And finally? The beach! Close enough to Domestic & General to spend a sunny lunch-time soaking up some rays, Brighton’s famous pebble beach with its iconic piers and instantly recognisable Victorian promenade is one of Brighton’s main attractions. Where else can you go from desk to deck chair in a matter of minutes?
