We have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our Group Procurement Team here at Domestic & General. Reporting into our Group Procurement Director, this role will support all D&G group entities and help deliver value for money in all supplier-related activities, including but not limited to supplier evaluation, selection, contract negotiation, implementation, and ongoing management of supplier engagements.

This will include engaging with stakeholders to understand business needs, ensure that procurement support the needs of the organisation, to find the best and most cost-effective suppliers and solutions and that best practise is delivered. In addition to this they will also create and implement clear strategies for buying goods and services that are in line with the objectives and goals of the organisation so it can better invest in growth, services, and its people.

Key responsibilities:

•    Create and implement clear strategies for buying goods and services that are in line with the organisation’s wider objectives and goals.
•    Help the organisation to forecast and plan supply requirements as well as achieve the best value for money, level of service and quality standards when dealing with vendors and suppliers.
•    Ensure that vendors and suppliers meet required standards, such as ISO accreditation or having the right insurance cover.
•    Make sure the supply chain is free from slavery and corruption.
•    Develop and maintain long-term, positive relationships with suppliers.
•    Compare costs and specifications in the proposals that suppliers and vendors send.
•    Review contracts with suppliers and vendors.

Skills and experience required:

•    Extensive experience of managing the end-to-end procurement life cycle.
•    Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
•    High level of negotiation and influencing skills
•    Ability to analyse and manage contracts at all levels. 
•    Experience of working and managing cross functional teams
•    Ability to identify issues through sound analysis and application of commercial acumen in all situations.
•    Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
•    Excellent organisational skills.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
•    Flexible with the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
•    Good understanding of finance
