We have a fantastic opportunity for a Operational Governance Analyst to join our First Line Controls Operations team here at Domestic & General. This will be responsible to ensure that the Group Operations delivers the right customer, commercial, people and risk outcomes it needs robust governance in place. They will also help operations to evolve and adapt to changing demands that governance must facilitate a balanced focus on short term tactical priorities as well as longer term strategic decision making. The Operations Governance and Strategy Manager will help to administer the governance structure and cadence across the team as well as undertaking various ad-hoc tasks to support in key projects, strategic plans, and business change Operations.

The role will act as a gatekeeper of the strategic documents, oversight documentation and will hold an understanding of the Sales, Service and controls for the operations within Domestic and General. The role is key to the success of the Operations and the Operational Leadership team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Help with the preparation of materials and submission papers across our Group Operations teams
  • Collate data to support the Group Operations governance framework, and to help discharge the teams’ responsibilities
  • Help to define, implement, and police the standards for the Operational Governance forums lined into the Group governance structure.
  • Keep robust governance around committees, forums and maintain a central repository of governance records across Group Operations, ensuring that all papers are held and managed from the central location
  • Engagement with key stakeholders, within Group Operations and across the wider group, gathering information and insights relevant to the OLT, to help them discharge their responsibilities
  • Monitoring of actions and responses across the various committees, forums etc to ensure a timely and balanced response in the required format appropriate to committee level
  • Supporting with the creation of materials to meet Group brand obligations across Group Operations
  • Orchestrate and maintain cadence of the weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly meetings, touchpoints and reporting across Group Operations
  • Support new forums, meetings, or committees in their infancy, to ensure they meet the required standards including the capture of minutes an actions
  • Aiding the governance and oversight for our service and sales third parties and supporting with the establishment of our BPO governance framework.
  • Help First Line Controls in defining the operating model and long-term objectives for Group Operations and translating those into objectives and actions. Supporting on key strategic initiatives and key projects where required.

Skills and experience required:

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Good understanding of Domestic & General operations and insurance regulatory requirements
  • Strong planning and organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to a changing business environment.
  • Comfortable implementing high standards and preparing materials for a senior audience, with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel – advanced)
