Location: Flexible working with visits to our office in Wimbledon as and when required.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Strategy & Corporate Development to join our Strategy & Corporate Development here at Domestic & General. Reporting into our Chief Strategy & Corporate Development Officer, they will be responsible for supporting strategic decision-making across our organisation, including the assessment of both organic and inorganic growth opportunities.  This role involves overseeing market research of key industry trends; analysis of growth opportunities and potential risks; evaluation of competitors’ strategies; as well as data analysis and interpretation. 

This role is a highly collaborative role, where they will work within a small but agile team, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a meaningful business impact.

Key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing market research activity to identify industry trends, growth opportunities and potential risks.
  • Responsible for managing a small market research team and working together to provide high quality, strategic and data-rich insights, to support the assessment of organic and inorganic strategic initiatives
  • Analysing the competitive landscape to evaluate competitors’ strategies, market positioning, and key differentiators.
  • Leading data capture efforts to collect, analyse, and interpret data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess potential organic and inorganic opportunities, providing strategic input and challenge.
  • Developing data models to support an assessment of both inorganic opportunities and strategic initiatives.
  • Presenting findings, recommendations, and strategic insights to senior management and key stakeholders

Skills and experience required:

  • Practical experience working within a strategy team (in-house or consultancy) supporting the development of strategic plans, delivering robust fact-bases using internal and external data points, driving strategic insights and value to the organisation.
  • Knowledgeable in industry trends, best practice, and the impact of external factors, such as regulatory changes, economic trends and industry disruption to the business.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders on all levels, including the Senior Executive
  • Excellent Advanced Excel modelling and powerpoint skills which is critical to the role
  • Previous business strategy experience either inhouse or within a management consultancy firm
  • Capable of working in a dynamic and agile way to engage a range of stakeholders across the business.
