We have an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and sharp minded graduate to join our Commercial Finance team as a Graduate Commercial Finance Analyst. The successful individual will report into one of the Commercial Finance Managers and will gain excellent exposure to the work the team does from the outset.

As a team they are responsible for ensuring the global business is profitable, taking ownership of and monitoring individual accounts. They are involved in most things that go through the business, at one stage or other, and this brings plenty of opportunities into the team with varying scopes. This role will provide you with a huge amount of financial services experience in fast paced, inclusive and supportive environment.

As a Graduate Commercial Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a portfolio of warranty products and client accounts.
  • Ensuring the pricing, commercial arrangements and product design of warranty business delivers against cost and target margins, through accurate costing and modelling.
  • Analysing financial and performance data to understand issues and propose solutions to optimise performance.
  • Producing long-term financial forecasts and cash flows, including investment appraisal analysis.
  • Presenting commercial propositions to senior management and external clients.
  • Liaising with all commercial areas of the D&G business to deliver profitable warranty products.
  • Assessing and advising on warranty product risk.
  • Applying appropriate regulatory requirements including GDPR.
  • Developing and delivering creative solutions to complex warranty design problems.
  • Able to solve complex warranty, system, and operational problems.

  • Proactive work ethic and commercial acumen
  • Excellent numeracy and excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Capable of using a large data set analysis
  • Knowledge of financial & commercial modelling as well as budgeting and forecasting
  • Confidence in building relationships with different level stakeholders across the business
  • Some experience using SQL would be ideal but not essential
  • Experience with Extended Warranty Products is beneficial however not essential

Key role responsibilities:

  • Aid & improve the design and implementation of FP&A models and assumptions to enable effective reporting
  • Provide analysis skills which may include any or all of the following: qualitative & quantitative analysis, formulating initiatives, defining requirements, process design/improvement, test support and BAU transition
  • Work closely with Finance team and wider business stakeholders to understand and investigate financial performance
  • Assist in development of new, and streamlining existing processes and controls, including the integration of group monthly and quarterly reporting into the FP&A reporting cycle.
  • Consolidating department financials, ensuring consistent processes and approach, producing and co-ordinating timelines.
  • Be a conduit between FP&A and other finance functions, co-ordinating deadlines and addressing queries.

Skills and experience required:

  • Technically competent on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • A critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Fantastic Team player
  • Analysis and reporting using Microsoft Office (esp. Excel)
  • Recently graduated with a numerate degree or has substantial experience at the same level

Desirable:

  • Modelling experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions, recognising and utilising the expertise across the business to drive value
  • High degree of initiative, reliable and ability to work with little supervision
