Underwriting, Commercial Finance and MI

Department Overview

Underwriting and Commercial Finance team, together with Management Information (MI) are critical to determining the success of our company. With responsibility for managing and forecasting the profitability of new and existing lines of warranty in a fast growing and dynamic business, covering our corporate and consumer products, Underwriting and Commercial Finance directly contribute to the profitable growth of the company. The MI team provide the critical financial information which forms the basis of our commercial decision-making across all our products – current and new. Both teams cover all products across the UK and in our European markets.

The Underwriting and Commercial Finance team is at the very heart of D&G  – we’re involved in all the key commercial and pricing decisions that make our business tick. We have to work at pace – it’s no exaggeration to say that we deal with new challenges every day – and we have to be able to quickly adapt to new situations and new information.  I’m looking for ambitious and motivated graduates to join the team who will thrive in that sort of environment.  The nature of our work means that of course I need people who are highly numerate, but I also look for people who apply logic and critical thinking to real problems, and who will be able to work in partnership with the rest of the company. I think it’s critical for the continuing success of our company that we bring in and work with new talent to create tomorrow’s senior managers – if you’re keen to learn the business, realise your potential and have some fun along the way, this is a great place to do it.

Joe Fitzgerald, Underwriting and Commercial Finance Director.  1998 Graduate Trainee.
