As custodians of the D&G brand, the Marketing Department is central to D&G and highly influential in driving the success of our business. The team has a wide brief - looking after our commercial clients; creating and launching new product initiatives; managing internal and external stakeholder relationships and working closely with other departments to optimise our acquisition campaigns, cross-selling, pricing, retention and renewal strategies. Marketing also owns our marketing campaigns, manages and analyses our extensive customer database and is fully responsible for all our customer mailing programmes. The team delivers both UK and international Marketing services, working closely with all other departments across the business.
“Marketing really is a great place to work in D&G. We cover the whole spectrum of the profession – including artwork & design, pricing, database analysis and management, research, branding/PR and Comms, product development, project management and account management. This creates opportunities for people to specialise or develop broad Marketing skills, and the size of the team means that you can quickly grow into management roles. In graduates, I’m looking for creativity, personal impact, relationship management and flexibility, so I know they will add value anywhere in the team. Of course the basics are essential too – you’ll need to be able to write well and be comfortable with figures, be questioning and analytical in your approach, be willing to take responsibility. It’s a hard working environment – but it’s also great fun! If that sounds like you, why not give it a shot? I’m very much looking forward to welcoming D&G’s future leaders - that just might include you.”
Mark Berryman, Group Marketing Director. 1998 Graduate trainee.
With responsibility both for establishing new partnerships and for managing relationships with our existing clients, the Sales Department has a critical role in driving the success of D&G. Our clients include many top UK and international household names. Innovation, underpinned by a collaborative approach to working, is fundamental to the team’s ability to develop new income streams and deliver additional value for both our clients and our company. The team is accountable for identifying opportunities for growth, developing and pitching new business bids, and managing the successful implementation of new business initiatives.
“The Sales team may be one of the smaller teams within the company, but the responsibility which we carry is one of the greatest. I need people who combine ambition and a “can-do attitude” with concrete business insight and a focus on delivering results. My team needs to be emotionally intelligent, knowing when to take the reins and when to let others lead. Working well with others is an absolute pre-requisite, as aligning internal resource to meet client needs makes up a significant part of our role. If you think you have what it takes to work in our team and help push the success of the Company even further, I look forward to hearing from you.”
