In your first few weeks, we’ll make sure you have a good grounding into life at Domestic & General. You’ll visit our sites in Brighton and Nottingham to see what happens in our contact centres. In Wimbledon, our head office departments will walk you through all you need to know about what they do. You’ll meet some of our most senior managers, other graduates and your HR and development leads. We’ll also make sure you have a ‘buddy’ – a colleague with enough knowledge of Domestic & General and the local area to make sure you have someone to help while you find your feet.
If you’re on our Management Trainee programme, you’ll work for at least three different departments in your first year, before moving into a permanent role. If you go straight into one of our key departments, we’ll quickly work with you to build a tailored training and development programme that will make sure you get the best possible start in your chosen function.
Our graduate training programme is designed to develop the skills you need to become a manager of the future. This includes modules such as line management, time management and presentation skills. Domestic & General will also sponsor your studies as you work towards professional qualifications in your specialist area.
To ensure your success on the programme, your line manager's support and mentoring is essential. He or she will have a say into the content of your training programme and will meet with you regularly to review your progress and development.
